Diverse winners at the Golden Globes

In real life her 80 year mother confided she hadn't accomplished anything in her life, and Close proclaimed that like many wives, a lifetime of subordination is a waste and that women must find their own voice. Best actress and supporting actress in a limited series went to two powerful women - Patricia Arquette - "Escape At Dannemora"and Patricia Clarkson for "Sharp Objects" . Barry Jenkins' "If Beale Street Could Talk's Regina King won best supporting actress in a drama proclaiming that 50% of future projects that she will produce will be women. As the first woman of color HFPA emcee, Sandra Oh acknowledged her sisters in the industry.
